Ninh Thuận released 670,000 broodstock black tiger shrimp to recover fisheries resources

Those broodstock black tiger shrimp were checked for sizes and quarantined to assure growth when being released to nature.

On April 01, the Ninh Thuận provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held the Ceremony of recover the aquatic resource in the 63rd anniversary of the fisheries.

In the ceremony, leaders of the Department, the Sub-department of fisheries, and institutes released 670,000 broodstock black tiger shrimps to Tây Giang area, Bình Sơn beach, and Ninh Chữ beach. Those shrimp were checked for sizes and quarantined for healthy growth assurance in nature.

Such releasing is held annually by the Ninh Thuận provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development with an aim to protect, conserve and recover the aquatic resource, and disseminate the termination of destructive exploitation such as using electric and explosive to harm and damage the aquatic resource.

In 2021, Ninh Thuận achieved 124,000 tons of exploited aquatic species and produced 39 billion broodstock shrimps. In 2022, Ninh Thuận plans to focus on supporting and encouraging fishermen to build large capacity fishing vessels which are equipped with modern equipment to facilitate offshore fishing trips and reorganize the fisheries to enhance the effectiveness of aquatic exploitation.
